Mission:
A Senior DevOps Engineer will build and maintain our application deployments and cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing Cloud Infrastructure (IaC); designing, implementing, and managing our CI/CD pipelines; as well as monitoring infrastructure and enabling teams to monitor their core domains. You will use your knowledge of DevOps and infrastructure to promote proper engineering practices, automation strategies, and other advanced concepts across domains. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop reusable Infrastructure-as-Code objects to deploy and manage AWS resources.
  • Lead out on Cloud networking design and implementation
  • Develop proof-of-concepts to advance our technology stack and organization maturity.
  • Identify and solve problems in code and running infrastructure (troubleshoot and maintain production systems) use protocols and tools in the space of log aggregation, analytics, monitoring, tracing, and alerting.
  • Work in a high-performing agile environment. 
  • Update and create new CI / CD pipelines and deployment processes.
  • Continuously learn and improve in line with our core values.
  • Effectively estimate development tasks for time-to-completion and achievement of business outcomes that help our customers.
  • Ascertain need, propose, design, and execute projects.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and review / create / update run books to continually improve and simplify our processes.
  • Effectively communicate with other Engineering teams to successfully execute on projects and org initiatives.
  • Inspire and mentor others by example, particularly in the promotion of technical and cultural best practices.
  • Preparing and reviewing vulnerability reports using security tools.
  • Assist with creation of modern web services architectures.
  • Consuming and integrating infrastructure service APIs

What makes you the hero for this job:

  • 8+ years of professional operations, DevOps, or software engineering experience.
  • 6+ years experience in managing AWS cloud platforms.
  • Bachelor degree in CS, IT, IS or equivalent experience.
  • Mastery of at least one major scripting technology (python, bash, node js) and ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.
  • 4-5 years of experience with terraform (preferred) or AWS CloudFormation or Azure Resource Manager.
  • Advanced Networking
  • Linux system administration.
  • Containerization and cluster management technologies like Docker.
  • Experience with AWS Services including:
    • Fundamentals: EC2/ELB/VPC; S3; IAM
    • Transit Gateway
    • ECS
    • RDS
    • CloudFront
    • API Gateway
    • DynamoDB
    • EKS
    • Lambda
    • MSK
    • Route53
    • OpenSearch
    • CloudWatch & CloudTrail
  • Strong experience with CI / CD platforms (github, Jenkins, gitlab, Atlassian suite, or similar).
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot enterprise level systems and Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Experience with at least one compiled language (Java, C#).
