AI Platform Engineer

Lehi, UT
Full Time
Experienced

We are obsessed with the hero's journey at JobNimbus. Every person has a hero's journey—Hermione Granger, James T. Kirk, Frodo Baggins, Anna & Elsa, Nacho Libre, and even YOU! This is our “call to adventure” to come check out JobNimbus. What do you have to lose? You might make a few new friends, learn about a sick new company doing some amazing things, and maybe even land a new job!

Mission:

Transform JobNimbus into an AI-native engineering organization by building production-grade AI infrastructure that unlocks 2–10x productivity, autonomous workflows, and novel capabilities other companies haven’t yet imagined.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design and build the internal AI tooling infrastructure (MCP servers, context systems, and prompt libraries) that makes every JobNimbus engineer 2–10x more effective.
  • Architect and implement agentic CI/CD workflows where AI agents actively participate in code review, testing, refactoring, and autonomous fix loops.
  • Create AI-native development patterns (CLAUDE.md standards, repository context infrastructure, integration templates) so our codebases are optimized for AI-assisted engineering by default.
  • Own the reliability, observability, and production-grade performance of the AI platform — ensuring zero engineer-facing outages and fast, secure access to internal systems.
  • Build secure AI integrations with strong guardrails against prompt injection, data leakage, and unsafe tool usage — making the secure path the fast path.
  • Design autonomous workflows (ticket-to-PR pipelines, automated quality gates, AI-assisted testing) that reduce review burden while maintaining or improving defect rates.
  • Measure and optimize AI adoption across the org — using data to drive improvements in velocity, task complexity progression, and quality.
  • Train and enable engineers to move from “using AI” to “world-class with AI” through workshops, documentation, coaching, and scalable enablement programs.
  • Evaluate emerging AI tools with rigor — separating hype from real capability — and recommend build vs. buy decisions that create measurable business value.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering Managers, Security, Architecture Council, and Platform teams to ensure AI tooling integrates cleanly into our broader ecosystem.
  • Continuously raise the ceiling of what’s possible — building infrastructure so powerful that novel AI workflows emerge organically from the systems you created.

What Makes You the Hero for This Job:

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience (Python, TypeScript, or similar), with strong platform engineering fundamentals.
  • Deep hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and LLM APIs — not dabbling, but shipping real production work with AI daily.
  • Experience building internal developer tools (CLI tools, automation systems, integrations, workflow tooling) that engineers actually adopt and love.
  • Strong background in CI/CD systems, cloud infrastructure, and developer experience tooling.
  • Experience designing or integrating agent-based systems, AI workflows, or automation pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of AI-specific security risks (prompt injection, data leakage, unsafe tool execution) and how to implement guardrails that scale.
  • Experience driving adoption of new tools in an engineering organization — enabling through quality and value, not mandates.
  • Ability to measure and communicate impact in business terms (velocity, quality, ROI), not just technical output.
  • Strong documentation, training, and communication skills — you can turn complex AI infrastructure into something engineers confidently use daily.
  • Experience evaluating emerging AI tooling with discernment — separating signal from hype and making pragmatic build-vs-buy decisions.
  • Production-grade mindset — you build reliable, observable, scalable systems, not fragile demos.
  • Bonus: MCP server experience, agent framework experience, security/compliance background, or experience publishing/sharing technical learnings externally.

 Superpowers:

  • Extreme Ownership. You own the outcomes, drive initiatives, and solve problems proactively. If you need direction and someone to hold your hand, this job is not for you.
  • Customer Obsessed. Everything we build should leave our customers saying, "Aw dip. This product is off the charts cool. Whoever wrote that code deserves a raise!"
  • Proactive Learning. You stay ahead of the curve, continuously learning and implementing cutting-edge technologies.
  • Team Commitment. You build, mentor, and lead a high-performance engineering team that delivers results together.
  • Self Awareness. You know your strengths, weaknesses, and how to surround yourself with the right talent to succeed.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
